The LSIA Level 1 Ski Instructor Course is the first step in the LSIA instructor qualification pathway and the official entry point into the LSIA certification system. This course is designed for competent skiers who want to begin their professional journey as ski instructors and work within the international snowsports industry.
LSIA (Lithuanian Ski Instructors Association) is a full member of ISIA – the International Ski Instructors Association. This means that LSIA qualifications are part of the international instructor education system used by ski instructor organizations around the world.
The Level 1 qualification provides the fundamental technical skiing knowledge, teaching principles, and professional skills required to begin working as a ski instructor.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Duration: 5 days (40 hours)
The learning process is based on a balance between practical on-snow training and theoretical sessions. Participants receive intensive coaching on their skiing performance while also learning the foundations of ski instruction and lesson organization.

ASSESSMENT
Assessment takes place throughout the course and focuses on three main areas:
• Technical skiing performance
• Teaching skills and lesson delivery
• Theoretical and technical understanding
Successful candidates receive the LSIA Level 1 Ski Instructor certification.
PROFESSIONAL STATUS
LSIA Level 1 instructors are qualified to teach beginner and lower-intermediate skiers within organized ski schools.
The Level 1 qualification is the first step in the LSIA instructor education pathway and allows participants to continue toward higher certifications.
Qualification pathway:
Level 1 → Level 2 → Level 3
LSIA Level 2 corresponds to the ISIA Blue level.
LSIA Level 3 corresponds to the ISIA Stamp level.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum age: 17 years at the start of the course
• Confident skiing on blue and red slopes
• Ability to perform controlled parallel turns
• No previous teaching experience required
