The assessment days will be run as a learning opportunity with at least three examiners over the period of the four-day assessment. Each candidate is to be given numerous attempts at each task. \nBy creating a relaxed atmosphere\, it will allow every opportunity for the candidate to demonstrate required level of the particular skill and understanding to attain their Level 3 Qualification. A four-day assessment run by LSIA Examiners will include teaching scenarios\, demonstration ability and written test. Movement analysis unit will be run as a technical discussion with two examiners.

SUMMARY:LSIA Level 3 Freeride / Avalanche Module [Spring 2023]
DESCRIPTION:The aim of the Level 3 Freeride / Avalanche Awareness Module is to develop candidate‘ off-piste skiing skills such as bumps\, steeps\, powder snow\, couloirs\, etc. and introduce the guideline progressions for students seeking skiing in a variable terrain. This module provides a basic understanding of the nature of avalanches and what is needed to make decisions about risk management when skiing through unpatrolled terrain with a group of students. This module will also help develop observation and route finding skills for moving in unmarked terrain on the mountains. This course will be under the guidance of a LSIA Examiner and a UIAGM Guide and candidates will be assessed on all the units of the module except the skiing performance which is later part of final assessment (candidates can resit non-skiing parts of the this module during final assessment).

SUMMARY:LSIA Level 3 Freeride / Avalanche Module [Spring 2019]
DESCRIPTION:The aim of the Level 3 Freeride / Avalanche Awareness Module is to develop candidate‘ off-piste skiing skills such as bumps\, steeps\, powder snow\, couloirs\, etc. and introduce the guideline progressions for students seeking skiing in a variable terrain. This module provides a basic understanding of the nature of avalanches and what is needed to make decisions about risk management when skiing through unpatrolled terrain with a group of students. This module will also help develop observation and route finding skills for moving in unmarked terrain on the mountains. This course will be under the guidance of a LSIA Examiner and a UIAGM Guide and candidates will be assessed on all the units of the module except the skiing performance which is later part of final assessment (candidates can resit non-skiing parts of the this module during final assessment).
