DESCRIPTION:LSIA SKI LEVEL 3: Freeride / Avalanche Awareness Module\nKaprun\, Austria\nApril 26 – May 3\, 2026 \nLevel 3 Freeride / Avalanche Awareness module is part of the LSIA Level 3 Ski Instructor Programme – the second highest qualification available in Lithuania and recognized internationally within the ISIA system. The Freeride / Avalanche Awareness Module focuses on off-piste skiing skills and mountain safety and is conducted under the guidance of a LSIA Examiner and a UIAGM Mountain Guide. \nLSIA is a full member of ISIA (International Ski Instructors Association). The LSIA Level 3 qualification corresponds to the ISIA Stamp level. \nCOURSE OVERVIEW\nDuration: 8 days (minimum 64 hours). Minimum 5 hours per day on snow + indoor theory sessions\nLocation: Kaprun\, Austria\nLanguage: English\nTrainer & Examiner: Miroslav Kostka\nPrice: 850 Eur \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN\nOff-piste skiing\n• Off-piste skiing progressions – bumps\, steeps\, powder snow\, couloirs\n• Guideline progressions for students seeking skiing in variable terrain\n• Observation and route-finding skills for moving in unmarked mountain terrain \nMountain safety & avalanche awareness\n• Safety equipment – use of transceivers/beacons\, shovel and probe\n• Weather and avalanche risk management\n• Snow science and avalanche characteristics\n• Orientation and navigation techniques\n• Rescue in the backcountry\n• First Aid \nCOURSE STRUCTURE\nThe learning process combines intensive on-snow off-piste sessions with theoretical indoor sessions on snow science\, weather\, and risk management. The course is led jointly by a LSIA Examiner and a UIAGM Mountain Guide to ensure the highest standards of technical and safety instruction. \nASSESSMENT\nCandidates are assessed on all units of the module except skiing performance (which is assessed during the Level 3 final assessment).
