Jiri Nohejl named LSIA Technical Director

Jiri Nohejl is joining the Lithuanian Snowsports Instructors Association (LSIA) as the Technical Director to develop Technical and Teaching Concepts, to design Education System and to manage Digital Strategy. Starting September 1, 2018, Nohejl will support LSIA professional development, maintain a strong international connection and prepare LSIA’s first participation at Interski Congress 2019 in Pamporovo, Bulgaria.

“Jiri’s is joining LSIA with proven experience leading education programs, structuring assessment system, developing technical and teaching concepts and managing digital and printed content in the Association of Professional Ski Instructors of the Czech Republic. We are delighted he has decided to take our offer and take on a challenging position of the Technical Director,” said Ieva Urbon, LSIA Executive Director and President. “He is going to be a valuable asset for our organization in the further development of our education system and international collaboration.”

Jiri Nohejl served as the Digital Strategy Manager and Technical Committee Member for APUL Czech Republic for the past five years creating education content for more then 5000 members and has been a co-author of the widely used textbook “Snowsports Manual: The Blue Book of Skiing”. He has also been a two-term Czech Interski Team Member (2011 and 2015) and in 2017 a selector of Czech Interski Team representing Czech Republic in Pamporovo.

“I have been honored and humbled by the offer from the LSIA and I am thrilled to be joining their respectable team of professionals,” said Jiri Nohejl. “It is a big change and massive challenge for me. I have been involved in snowsports for 15 years now and I was always inspired by those organizations which strive for excellence and are willing to work hard in order to build great programs focused on candidate-centered education and building international connection.”

Jiri’s broad experience includes working at renowned places like Persiher Ski Resort in Australia, Cardrona Alpine Resort in New Zealand, award-winning Fiss-Ladis Ski School in Austria and most recently famous Aspen Snowmass in Colorado, USA. He has been teaching skiing and training ski instructors for more than 25 full-time seasons all over the globe. He holds top industry awards and qualification of ISIA Card, APUL Trainer / Examiner, NZSIA Trainer / Examiner and he is Czech Champion and World Vice-Champion in Synchronized Skiing.

He earned his master’s degree in Information Management and Systems and master’s degree in Finance from the University of Economics Prague and will bring system thinking in designing education programs and experience in managing digital content to the development of our association.
