LSIA Level 3 Ski Instructor Assessment [Sölden 2023]

€400The assessment is conducted on an on-going basis throughout the Level 3 Assessment Module after completing of all three compulsory Level 3 modules. The assessment days will be run as a learning opportunity with at least three examiners over the period of the four-day assessment. Each candidate is to be given numerous attempts at each task.
The LSIA Level 3 Ski Instructor Programme is designed for advanced, all-mountain skiers, who have passed all the requirements of the Level 2 Qualification. The Level 3 Ski Instructor Programme is offered in a modular structure. The programme develops ski instructors to an advance level in practical ski teaching methods, skiing performance and technical understanding. The Level 3 Ski Instructor is certified to teach all levels up to advanced students in all-mountain situations. This qualification is designed towards international instructors working full-time within snowsports schools around the world.
LSIA Level 3 is the second highest qualification that can be obtained in Lithuania. Level 3 is a pre- requisite for the LSIA Level 4 Instructor & Trainer Programme.
The Level 3 Instructor Programme is composed of:
– LSIA Level 3 Technical / Teaching Module (8 days)
– LSIA Level 3 Performance / Race Module (8 days)
– LSIA Level 3 Freeride / Avalanche Awareness Module (8 days)
– LSIA Level 3 Assessment Module (4 days)
– Second Discipline LSIA Level 2 (7 days) (Snowboard, Telemark, Nordic or Freestyle)
Learning process is based on a balance between practical (minimum 5 hrs. on-snow) and theoretical
(3 hrs. indoor) elements.

By creating a relaxed atmosphere, it will allow every opportunity for the candidate to demonstrate required level of the particular skill and understanding to attain their Level 3 Qualification.

A four-day assessment run by LSIA Examiners will include teaching scenarios, demonstration ability and written test. Movement analysis unit will be run as a technical discussion with two examiners.
Minimum three examiners are used to run the LSIA Level 3 Assessment Module.

Candidates must pass all components to pass the Level 3 Assessment to obtain the qualification.
Professional rights and entitlements:
Successful Level 3 candidates will be issued a qualification (certificate) to work within an organised mountain-based snowsports school all around the world. They can teach up to advanced skiers. This includes techniques and tactics for bumps, steep terrain, higher speed, and variable conditions within marked ski slopes and also on ungroomed off-piste terrain. Instructors with this qualification need to comply with the statutory regulations of the country in which they want to teach.

Those candidates who do not reach the required level may be required to resit all or part of the assessment.
The certification needs to be refreshed at least once every three years.

Additional expenses: Ski pass (around 190 eur/4 days) & accommodation.
Each participant is responsible for their own transport, including the arrival at the apartments and the ride to and back from the lift station for the duration of the course.
