LSIA Level 1 Snowboard Instructor Course [Solden 2024]

€450The Level 1 Snowboard Course is designed to be an educational experience. Participants will be introduced to and gain the basic knowledge of LSIA Technical and Teaching Concepts as well as thorough understanding of the role of snowboard teaching within the snowsports industry. They will receive coaching on their snowboarding, and they will also receive suggestions and strategies for their long-term development.
LSIA Level 1 snowboard instructor qualification is the lowest level that can be obtained in LSIA. Level 1 is a pre – requisite for the Level 2.
● It is a 5 day (40 hrs) course
● Learning process is based on a balance between practical (minimum 5 hrs on-snow) and theoretical (3 hrs indoor) elements.
Entry requirements:
● Be 17 years of age at the commencement of the course
● Candidates are required to ride confidently on all blue and red terrain in skidded snowboard turns.
● No previous teaching experience is required.
Content:
● The LSIA Level 1 is an introductory course aimed at any competent snowboarder seeking to enter the snowsports industry and to work as an instructor. The Level 1 qualification is the entry point to the LSIA training pathway. The Level 1 certified instructor will be provided with the basic skills needed to get started instructing in most snowsport schools.
● Participants will be introduced to and gain the very basics of LSIA technical and teaching principles and concepts as well as the role of snowboard teaching within the snowsports industry. They will receive coaching on their snowboarding and they will also receive suggestions and strategies for long-term development.

Level 2 course:
– 5 days Teaching/Technical Module
– 2 days assessment after completing Level 1&2

Additional expenses: Ski pass (around 250 eur/5days) & accommodation.
Each participant is responsible for their own transport, including the arrival at the apartments and the ride to and back from the lift station for the duration of the course.
Daily schedule:
Day 0: Arrival in the evening
Day 1-4: 08:30 – 13:30 practice on snow (with a short break). In the evening or before and after snowboarding (depending on external factors) 2-3 hours of individual and team tasks.
Day 5: 8:30-13:30 practice and assessment on snow (with a short break). Discussion. A word from the course leaders about the candidates, awarding certificates to those who have successfully passed the course. Departure after snowboarding.
